We’re big fans of the Fourth Doctor scarf here at Lovarzi. (In fact we like them so much that we sell them!) And as we all know, there are many creative ways to put them to good use. So if you’re in a bit of a bind and wondering how best to utilise your wittily-knitted creation, then look no further. We’ve put together a list of our top three scarf uses – perfect for the busy Time Lord!
Number 3: Escaping from a stuck lift
Things are looking up!
The Doctor’s had a few scares in elevator shafts. The First Doctor and his companions Susan, Ian, and Barbara were pursued by the titular Skaro monsters in ‘The Daleks’ (1963/4); a snapped cable left the Tenth Doctor and Ida Scott in the depths of Krop Tor, staring at ‘The Satan Pit’ (2006); and Amy and Rory’s lift trip led to them being trapped in a doll’s house in ‘Night Terrors’ (2011.)
We’re pretty sure the Fourth Doctor could’ve solved some of these hiccups with the aid of his trusty multi-coloured long striped scarf though…
Number 2: A bungee cord
Peoples of the universe, please attend carefully.
We don’t actually advise anyone uses a scarf as a bungee. But you’d at least think the Doctor would’ve tried to loop his Season 18 burgundy scarf around the Pharos Project satellite in ‘Logopolis’ (1981). Alas, he instead plunged to the ground and regenerated. Thankfully, the moment had been prepared for…
Number 1: A hammock
“Who needs beds when you’ve got hammocks?!”
The Eleventh Doctor dodged death at Lake Silencio, rebooted the universe with a second Big Bang, visited the Dalek Asylum, journeyed to the centre of the TARDIS, saved Gallifrey, and went to war at Demons Run. You’ll forgive him for taking a nap in a Season 12 Fourth Doctor scarf…
What do you think? Are these really the best uses for a Doctor Who scarf? Which is your favourite (maybe it’s one not included in this list?) Let us know in the comments below.
