Doctor Who showrunner Chris Chibnall has confirmed that the series will be back on our screens in 2021! (That is, after the broadcast of the festive special ‘Revolution of the Daleks…’)
“It will be next year sometime, hopefully,” he said, “unless my holiday goes on for a really long time, which is always tempting.” Or, indeed, if his holiday involves taking a big space-truck across a diamond planet called Midnight. Or a visit to Orphan 55.
Chibnall added: “We are already planning the stories. Once you see the end of this series, you’ll realise there are some stories we’re already setting in train for next series. We have very big, ambitious plans for our third series together.”
Doctor Who herself (Jodie Whittaker) has already confirmed that she will be returning to the TARDIS, so fans of 13 can be rest assured that she’ll be around for at least one more season. The fate of the other regulars, however, remains to be (officially) confirmed…
